Patient Accounts Representative

Full-Time Position – 40 hours per week.  Works 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. / 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. (rotates every other week).

Duties included processing medical claims in a timely manner, investigating denied claims, resolving disputed claims by gathering, verifying and providing additional information, following up on claims.  Background in medical billing and billing terminology a plus.

Head Cook

Head Cook

Full-Time Position – 36-40 hours per week.  Works 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. most week days, and every third weekend from 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., or 10:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., or 5:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.  Rotates Holidays.

The Head Cook prepares, seasons, and cooks meat, fish, fowl, vegetables, soups, and other items for regular and special patient diets, cafeteria meals, mobile meals, inmates, and special meetings.  She/he apportions servings and performs the other related duties regarding serving, storing, and cleaning up meal service.  Keeps accurate records for meal counts and diets served in accordance with prescribed diet.  Performs all functions of the dietary department as indicated.  Serves as the supervisor when the Dietary Manager and Dietitian are absent.  Performs other duties related to this position.  He/she adheres to the mission of Myrtue Medical
Center in all aspects of job performance.

Marketing Specialist

Marketing Department

Part-time position (20 hours per week).  Works Monday-Friday.  Coordinates and implements marketing and advertising plans and programs for MMC.  This includes, but is not limited to: marketing campaigns, creative developments and implementation for all media platforms including web, direct mail, print, radio, television, and social media.  Will research, write and disseminate news releases, writing hospital publications including brochures, magazines, newsletters, and fliers.

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, journalism, or equivalent required.  Marketing/communication work experience preferably in a healthcare setting.  Knowledge of media relations, including standard practice in the dissemination of information and coordination of story development.  Excellent written and communications skills required.  Time management and problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to apply these in various situations.  Computer literacy, with demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office required.

Contracted Spanish Interpreter

Works as needed and as available.  Provides English to Spanish and Spanish to English interpretation services, as well as translation services as needed, to non-English speaking, Spanish speaking public served by Myrtue Medical Center. Spanish interpretation/translation experience preferred.  High school diploma or equivalent required.  Ability to communicate effectively and accurately, both orally and in writing.  Required knowledge of medical terms in English and Spanish required.

Environmental Services Staff

Environmental Services Department

Part-time position (24 hours per week).  Works Monday, Friday, and every other weekend 4:00 pm to 12:30 am.  Energetic, pleasant individual needed as a housekeeper in our facility.  Cleans all areas of the hospital and serves as front line defense against infection.  Attention to detail and strong work ethic a must.  Ability to be flexible.  Commitment to quality teamwork a must, while also able to work independently.

Admissions Clerk

Admissions Department

On-call position.  Schedule will vary.  Works various days Monday through Sunday. Working hours between 7:00 am to 11:00 pm.  Responsible for accurate registration of lab, radiology, and ER patients.  Position requires understanding of health insurance plans and order of benefit determination.  Excellent customer service skills ae necessary via face to face and telephone.  Must be able to do a variety of tasks in a calm, efficient, and accurate manner.

Lifeguard

3 on-call positions available.  Schedule varies.  Potential hours as noted:
Summer:  Monday through Friday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm OR 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm; Saturday 8:00 am to 1:00 pm/1:00 pm to 8:00 pm; Sunday 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
School Year:  Monday through Friday 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm; Saturday 8:00 am to 1:00 pm/1:00 pm to 8:00 pm; Sunday 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Responsible for the health, safety, and welfare of Aquatic Complex patrons.  Enforces rules, responds to and prevents injuries.  Looking for mature people to work various shifts.  Must already possess Red Cross Lifeguard certificate.

Instructor

Petersen Family Wellness Center

On-call position.  Works as needed mornings, evenings, and/or weekends.  Will provide qualified instruction of safe and effective exercise to all participants of the general healthy public, offer exercise modification to fit individual needs  of participants, and help foster a commitment to fitness as a lifelong goal.  Various instructors can be:  Zumba, bootcamp, kid’s classes, yoga, etc.  Certification of teaching/exercise preferred.

Registered Nurse

Department of Community Health – Hospice

Part-time position (24 hours per week).  Works Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.  Rotates call one week out of every four weeks; holiday call rotation.  Utilizes the nursing process to provide and direct patient care.  Provides teaching and leadership, maintains standards for professional nursing practice.  Knowledge or experience in Hospice preferred.  Strong human relation skills required.  Must be a Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Iowa and CPR certified.  Valid driver’s license and auto liability insurance required.

Entry Desk Clerk

On-call position.  Works various hours including nights and weekends.  Provides supervision, guidance, and assistance to members.  Clerical work, point of sale, membership sign-ups, and customer service.
