Patient Accounts Representative

Full-Time Position – 40 hours per week.  Works 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. / 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. (rotates every other week).

Duties included processing medical claims in a timely manner, investigating denied claims, resolving disputed claims by gathering, verifying and providing additional information, following up on claims.  Background in medical billing and billing terminology a plus.

Marketing Specialist

Marketing Department

Part-time position (20 hours per week).  Works Monday-Friday.  Coordinates and implements marketing and advertising plans and programs for MMC.  This includes, but is not limited to: marketing campaigns, creative developments and implementation for all media platforms including web, direct mail, print, radio, television, and social media.  Will research, write and disseminate news releases, writing hospital publications including brochures, magazines, newsletters, and fliers.

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, journalism, or equivalent required.  Marketing/communication work experience preferably in a healthcare setting.  Knowledge of media relations, including standard practice in the dissemination of information and coordination of story development.  Excellent written and communications skills required.  Time management and problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to apply these in various situations.  Computer literacy, with demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office required.

On the heels of recognition as a HealthStrong Hospital, Myrtue Medical Center has been named by Healthgrades as a 2014 recipient of the Outstanding Patient Experience Award. We were identified as providing outstanding performance in the delivery of positive experiences for patients during their hospital stay, according to Healthgrades, the leading online resource for comprehensive information about physicians and hospitals.  Myrtue Medical Center is one of eleven hospitals in the State of Iowa to be recognized with this award.  The Outstanding Patient Experience Award recognizes hospitals for patient satisfaction based on a survey of questions about doctor and nurse communication, hospital cleanliness, noise levels, medication and post discharge care instructions.
